Last week I mentioned firing up the WayBack machine. From the Weekly News March 5th, 2005; “On February 19, 2005 we have 100 members and deliver about 55 boxes a week.” This week? 1,500+ members and around 240 boxes per week. Now, those are numbers. And as anyone that knows me, knows numbers confuse me (almost as much as that sentence confused you). I tried getting a percentage of growth in a spreadsheet but all I got was a pretty chart with a couple of numbers that I didn’t understand. The nearest I can figure out is that it’s “a lot” of growth. Do any of ya’ll want to take a stab at it?
Hey! It’s BPA. Will you find it at FA? Nay!
For those of ya’ll that are unsure what I was just referring to, ‘it’ is bisphenol A. (more information here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisphenol_A) We work hard to ensure that you eat safe as well as healthy. Products we sell are researched to ensure they meet *our* standards as well as federal, state and local ones. To the point where we’ll purchase just one item and open it to ensure that the can doesn’t have that white liner that contains BPA.
Whoa! 27 new items added since the last Weekly News and 21 new members. All this growth is a bit challenging. We can use some help. We are looking for an administrative position to work with Ellicia in member care. Interested applicants should contact brightspirit@freshabundance.com. Applications can be found at http://www.freshabundance.com/index.php?main_page=infopages&pages_id=2
Dang! Chickens were a HOT item this last week. They sold out within a couple of days. We’ll have a *lot* more on Thursday. They’ll be available at the stores fresh Thursday, Friday and Saturday and available for delivery on Friday.
Speaking of deliveries don’t forget to leave a cooler with and ice pack out if you’re getting something that needs to be kept cold.
There are still slots available for the organic gardening classes. They continue on Saturdays from 10am till noon on May 3rd, 10th and 17th. For more information go to our calendar (http://www.freshabundance.com/calendar/month.php) and hover over one of the classes or send an e-mail to brightspirit@freshabundance.com.
That’s it for this week.
