Volunteer Winter Growth

Each fall and spring I put a layer of composted soil on my front flower/herb garden and each spring there’s a bunch of volunteer plants that grow.  But this is  the very first time that I’ve had something come up in January.  During a spate of temps in the teens no less.

I came home on Thursday after running an errand and found a wonderful, fresh, absolutely beautiful…wait for it…….Festivus Pole growing out of the snow bank on top of the front garden.

Sure is cute. Baby Festivus Poles provide hope to the meaning of Feats of Strength and Airing of Grievences.

How sweet.  Isn’t nature beautiful?

I really do wonder where it came from. But love it anyway.
