For some reason or another you or someone that knows you (mainly Jacque) has you on an e-mail list called “Bicycle Riders”. But that isn’t the reason for the e-mail.
It’s time to BUY SOME STUFF VIA BICYCLE!!
This Saturday, 9am we’ll meet at The Scoop with our bicycles/Xtracycycles or other human powered conveyance and hit some yard sales. It’ll give you the perfect opportunity to purchase some duds or accessories for Prom (if you don’t know what I’m referring to click the link).
Remember, if you can’t fit it on your bicycle you probably don’t need it.

Ya’ll are probably getting tired about my obsession with buckets. Sorry. We’ll, not really. But it sounds nice to let you know I care mostly.
Today I met Gary at the Rocket again where we talked about cycling and other things and he provided me with some more buckets. He’s a gem and I hope to buy him a beer at the next FBC ride.
After the coffee we mounted up and off we went. Gary lives North so he had his own demon hill to face and I had Sunset.
Last year I was doing the commute towing a trailer with my clothing and food in it. With the bucket panniers I can carry almost as much yet it’s much easier. It really has to be the incredible amount of added drag by the additional two wheels. On a good, if not great note, think of all the additional “stuff” (Pat calls it “crap”, sniff) I get during the Wheels and Deals rides.
It’s a beautiful day, I wish I could ride more. Oh well, my public awaits me and I await their 911 call.
Day 6 – 6 miles (I really thought my fire station was further than that) in 23 minutes with an average speed of 9 mph and top of 29 mph.
-The Restaurant Rut Chronicles continue
-Talking about local bike clubs
-Upcoming Wheels and Deals yard sale bicycle ride
-Making and receiving suggestions
-R E S P E C T (Think Aretha Franklin)

I apologize for taking so long to post this. Life sometimes gets into the way.
I really like yard saleing, and this was one of the best “shopping” days ever. The weather was perfect and there were more people out selling stuff than you could shake a frame at.
There were 6 yard sales here within 2 blocks. A reqular Bonanza!
I may have mentioned it before but will again. It’s an absolute blast when a bunch of bicyclists pull up at a yard sale. We get such comments as, “Are you a gang?” “What’s the name of your club?” and “My! All of Ya’ll are so sexy!”
Sexiness personified
On thing that made this ride so awesome was the fact that everyone scored some awesome deals. But the winner of this ride was Jeff. A set of 4 oak chairs and a drawing table in the trailer.
Try *this* on an ExtraCycle
Actually the real winner was everyone. A fun time. 15 people on a ride that took just about 3 slow multi-stopping hours.
You know, life can be busy. That’s why I’m here for you. To help you de-stress. To assist you with relaxing. To get you to buy me a beer.
That being said lets look at our calendar together and think about some bike rides. More specifically let’s schedule some Wheels and Deals rides as well as a new one I’m going to call Seats and Reinforced Concrete. Right about now I can see you scratching your head and saying to yourself, “Jacque, just what in the heck are you saying?” or “What!?” or “Dang, Jacque sure is handsome and smart!”
A seat is something most of us sit on when we ride our bicycle. Reinforced concrete is used to buttress bridges and such and is also a place that graffiti is often placed.
I'm really not sure if this is reinforced concrete. I'm reasonably sure it's graffiti.
The Seats and Reinforced Concrete rides will start at a coffee shop downtown, and from there we’ll ride to various locations to look at and photograph graffiti. Some graffiti can be pretty cool. Colorful and artistic even. After we take some pics I’ll upload them.
Graffiti and yard sales are a lot like my moods. No, not manic-depressive, more like ever changing. So to keep you appraised I’ve added a widget to the left side of this blog that will be updated at the beginning of each month and/or whenever I learn of a bike ride.
As you can see there are some rides coming up in July. Click on it. A description will come up with the details.
This is my service to you. Why? Well, I’ll answer that with a question. Who loves ya?

We’ve been together almost a year now. There’s no doubt we’ve been through some difficult times. We’ve even crashed a few times together (And yes, I admit. It was my fault).
Yes, I do love you. Quite a bit. I’m just wondering, is it time to move on? You’re beginning to slow me down. Let’s look at the mechanics of our relationship. Two wheels move along pretty well. Add two more I do believe we’ve just doubled our drag. And that’s a drag.
You see, I’ve been seeing another. Actually two others. (Shh, their significant others don’t know). First I saw Greg’s….
Injuries not included
Then Pat went and wrote about it. Then wrote about it some more. He even came to a Wheels and Deals ride with it.
True Geekiness
That’s when we kinda more or less bonded. Not so much Pat and I but the me and the Xtracycle(s).
Relax, you’re not going to be replaced. There’s plenty of room in the family. It’s just that I want to start seeing another.
I really have to ask. Is there any better way to go yard saleing other than on a bicycle? It really does limit the amount of stuff you can haul home. And man, when you get a group of friends together it’s even better.
I ended up coming home with a sprinkler and got an awesome score on a coffee grinder.
The award for most scores goes to Pat. You see, we were ever so honored to host him as he took his Xtra-Cycle on it’s maiden voyage. There’s really no need for me to go into too much detail, you should check his blog out for the real (good) story.
Over all a great ride. 7 riders, 3′ish slow riding hours cumulating at Rick’s house where we polished off a growler of local beer.
Click the pic below for a few pics then head on over to Pat’s Blog for more.
Nope! You guessed wrong. It isn’t quite time yet for us to visit the therapist, nor is it time for me to check in with the probation officer.
It’s time for some more Wheels and Deals. That’s right friends. Let’s meet at The Scoop (at 25th and Monroe) on Saturday the 13th at 10am and we’ll ride our bikes to some pre-mapped sales.
This is a slow, no drop perfect forHill Slug ride. Bring your bike, attach the trailer and load it up.
Remember, if you can’t fit it on your bike you probably don’t need it.
Hope to see you there, maybe we’ll experience something like this….
